In emergency cases of trauma, due to imbalanced pressure or muscle damage, the lungs may lose internal pressure. This is called the collapsing of lungs and proves to be detrimental to life. An effective way to tackle this situation is the use of a needle to remove the counter-air pressure filling the chest cavity. In severe cases of emergency, the chest cavity may get filled with fluid; again needle is used to remove this excess fluid called Percutaneous Chest Tube Drainage.
