Overview:
The brain is a cluster of neural tissues fused together to form the complex working structure which helps us do all our thinking. Nerve cells pass on messages in the form of electrical impulses to the rest of the body through neural networks. In case of a stroke or neural damage, the overall working of the organ or organ system may be damaged. An easy way to assess the health, or extent of damage by stroke, or to map the activity of the brain, is done through a test called the Electroencephalogram or EEG. EEG is a test that records the electrical activity of the brain and brain wave patterns. It is a painless procedure involving the placement of sensors on the scalp to detect electrical impulses originating from brain activity.
