Procedure

Additionally, the magnification device provides an additional light source, providing the surgeon with high-quality images of the vocal cords and surrounding areas. The surgeon then carefully inspects the images and then proceeds with the surgery. The surgeon then takes out the lesion with the help of another tiny instrument. The best part about this surgery is no additional stitches are required. The wound heals on its own, and the patient can return home on the same day.

Post-surgery care

The cartilage is then folded and shaped to lift it to the desired position to ensure closeness to the head. If so, these incisions are made closer to the folds to ensure that future post-surgical scars aren't visible. Then the cut is stitched with delicate surgical threads to close the wound and stop the bleeding.

The patient may have to make re-visits to the doctor, where the doctor can monitor the patient's recovery rate. Usually, a person recovers within a week or two; however, if a person is engaged in heavy lifting work, they should rest for about 3-4 weeks to ensure complete recovery of the affected area.
