Coblation Adenotonsillectomy is a tonsil removal surgery. Frequent and long-standing tonsillitis, swollen and inflamed tonsils that cause breathing problems, and blood loss through the tonsils are all medical indications for tonsil removal. In rare cases, tonsils can also be affected by certain diseases and viruses that can only be treated by removing them.
Tonsils and adenoids are throat structures that filter against pathogens reaching the nose and mouth. They are part of the lymphatic system, which promotes circulation and immunological response. When a person’s tonsils or adenoids become infected or significant, they can cause difficulty breathing and sleeping. A tonsillectomy or adenoidectomy may be recommended to treat these concerns. This surgical procedure removes the tonsils or adenoids. Coblation tonsillectomy is less painful than standard tonsillectomy and provides similar advantages for sleep apnea. The possibility of bleeding is relatively minimal. The coblation technique eliminates infected tonsils, shortens recuperation time, and alleviates post-operative pain.
General anaesthesia is typically administered to make the patient comfortable before surgery. The surgeon puts a special equipment, the Coblation device, into the mouth and guides it to the rear of the throat, where the adenoids are located. The tool then employs controlled energy to dissolve and eliminate the adenoid tissue. Tonsils are taken out with a coblation wand, and any bleeding is controlled with stitches. After surgery, closely adhere to the surgeon’s post-operative instructions to ensure an early recovery.
