    Overview

  • Engaged in clinical practice from the year 2004, Dr. Mainak Malhotra passed out from CNMC Kolkata, joined the Medical Education service in 2007, was involved in multiple spheres of medical education, teaching undergraduate and guiding Postgraduate students, involved in setting up and functioning of the 1 st Medical ITU in CNMC in the year 2010. During his Govt service years, he was deeply involved in promoting and participating in the development of clinical skills of juniors and colleagues, government initiatives for the control of Dengue in and around Kolkata and Tuberculosis control programmes., It’s of utmost importance for him to teach, promote and practice the losing art of clinical medicine, the touch, the feel the look of the patient always says it all, a practice that needs to be continued, which along with the recent advances in technology like robotics and AI can only strengthen the clinical judgement, control excessive expenses and patient harassment, bring back the confidence and recreate the bond that the doctors and patients once shared, the bond of trust. Another essential aspect between the patient and doctor and which he strictly practices is Communication, a few kind words, a minute of patient hearing, clear idea formulation and clarification regarding the illness and the treatment, go a long way towards helping in healing and that is also the patients and patients families right to know. Necessary investigations will need to be done, without that diagnosis is not achievable, however, a proper triage and planned approach not only cuts down the cost but also helps reach a diagnosis earlier, that’s something he feels is right and practised, always. To him and his practice patience is the most important, he values trust and has been able to generate it over the last two decades, and he values the morals that guide him towards my treatment and will always go on treating his patients with all the empathy and honesty that he possesses. He is the Best General Medicine Doctor in Kolkata.
