Interventional oncology is now considered the fourth pillar of oncology. This fast-growing field is where minimally invasive diagnostic and interventional procedures are performed.  Some common IR procedures in oncology include :

  • Transarterial Chemoembolisation (TACE): The procedure involves delivering chemotherapy directly to the liver tumour through a catheter placed in the hepatic artery.
