Hysterectomy Treatment in Mysore

Hysterectomy treatment in Mysore is a surgical procedure in which the uterus (womb) is removed from a woman’s body. This surgery is usually recommended when a woman has a medical condition, such as uterine fibroids, endometriosis, or cancer, that requires the uterus to be removed. It is also sometimes recommended for women with severe pain or bleeding that cannot be controlled with other treatments. The type of hysterectomy performed will depend on the condition that is being treated and the patient’s preferences. In some cases, only the uterus is removed. In other cases, the cervix (the entrance to the uterus) and the ovaries (which produce eggs) may also be removed. In some cases, the fallopian tubes (which carry eggs from the ovaries to the uterus) may also be removed.

Pre-procedure

  • The first step is a pre-operative evaluation. This includes a physical exam, laboratory tests, and imaging such as an ultrasound or CT scan. The patient’s medical history should also be reviewed. The doctor will also talk to the patient about the risks and benefits of the procedure.

  • The patient should also make arrangements for recovery. This includes finding someone to take care of her for the first few days after the surgery. She should also make sure she has any necessary medications and supplies.

  • The patient should also stop taking medications that can increase the risk of bleeding, such as aspirin or ibuprofen. She should also avoid smoking and drinking alcohol for several weeks before the surgery.

  • The patient should discuss any allergies she may have with her doctor. This is important because some medications used during the surgery may cause an allergic reaction.

Procedure

  • The procedure is usually done as an outpatient procedure under general anaesthesia. The surgeon will cut (incision) the abdomen, through which the uterus and other organs will be removed. Depending on the type of hysterectomy, the other organs may include the cervix, ovaries, and fallopian tubes.

  • The type of incision used will depend on the size and location of the uterus and the reason for the hysterectomy. The incision may be made in the abdomen, through the vagina, or laparoscopically (a minimally invasive procedure).

  • The surgeon will remove all or part of the uterus and other organs that need to be removed. The parts of the uterus that are removed will depend on the reason for the hysterectomy. In some cases, the cervix may be left intact.

  • The incision is then closed with stitches or staples. After the procedure, the patient will be monitored for any signs of complications, such as infection or bleeding.

Post-procedure

Post-procedure for Hysterectomy typically involves a period of rest and recovery. Immediately following the procedure, the patient will generally be taken to a recovery room, where they will be monitored until they are stable. Pain medications may be prescribed to help manage any discomfort. Additionally, the patient will likely be advised to avoid strenuous activities, heavy lifting, and any activities that could strain the abdomen.

Once the patient is stable and able to go home, they will be given instructions on how to care for themselves during recovery. This typically includes: taking antibiotics to reduce the risk of infection, using ice packs to reduce swelling, and taking pain medications as prescribed. In addition, the patient should be sure to get plenty of rest and avoid strenuous activities.
