Ingrown toenails occur when the corners or edges of the nails grow into the skin beside the nail. Ingrown toenails are more likely to occur near the big toe. To treat this condition, an invasive procedure is performed which generally takes around 10-15 minutes. During this procedure, the affected toenail is disinfected with Betadine solution following which, local anaesthesia is given to the patient.
