  • Dr Rajesh Lavakumar is the lead musculoskeletal radiologist for Manipal Hospitals Radiology Group and one of the Leads for UK teleradiology. He completed his MBBS at Madras Medical College in 1995, and further pursued surgical training in the UK, acquiring his MRCS in 2002 from the Royal College of Edinburgh. He then completed his radiology training at Hull University teaching hospitals NHS trust, UK and was awarded FRCR in 2007. After serving as a consultant radiologist at North Lincolnshire and Goole NHS trust for nearly 2 years, he moved to India and joined Columbia Asia hospitals in 2010. He completed an international fellowship in MSK radiology from Nuffield Orthopaedic Centre, Oxford in 2013. Dr Lavakumar has 17 years of radiology experience. He is a member of the European Society of skeletal radiologists and the musculoskeletal Society of India. As a senior member of the MHRG team, he has led the MSK radiology practice at Columbia Asia for the past 10 years. His other areas of interest include chest, abdomen and Onco imaging. Dr Lavakumar is actively involved in postgraduate and fellowship training. He has been a faculty member at a number of national and international conferences and has a number of presentations to his credit.
