  • Dr. Vidyasagar Ramappa is a highly qualified and experienced Consultant Hepatologist and Gastroenterologist based in the Yeshwanthpur area of Bangalore. Since 2015, he has been working with Columbia Asia Hospitals, where he plays a pivotal role in the Integrated Digestive Liver and Cancer Care (IDLCC) program, offering comprehensive gastrointestinal (GI) care services to people suffering from acute gastrointestinal diseases and liver problems.

  • Dr. Ramappa’s journey started with him completing his undergraduate and postgraduate education in India, where he earned his MBBS and MD in Internal Medicine. Moreover, at Nottingham, in the United Kingdom, he went on to pursue further specialisation in Gastroenterology. Subsequently, he completed sub-speciality training in transplant hepatology at Addenbrookes Hospital in Cambridge, UK. To enhance his expertise in advanced endoscopy techniques, he went to Nottingham University Hospitals and undertook an advanced endoscopy fellowship there. With a wealth of knowledge and training in the field, in 2014, Dr Ramappa returned to Bangalore to join Columbia Asia Hospitals as a Consultant in Nutrition and Clinical Gastroenterology.

  • Since his appointment on August 2016 at Columbia Asia Referral Hospital - Yeshwanthapur, he has focused on the management of various biliary and liver-related diseases, including biliary endoscopy using advanced procedures such as EUS (Endoscopic Ultrasound), transplant hepatology and ERCP (Endoscopic Retrograde Cholangiopancreatography). In addition to his expertise in liver and biliary diseases, Dr. Ramappa is well-versed in managing luminal endoscopy, inflammatory bowel disease, functional GI disorders, acid-peptic disorders, and emergency gastroenterology, including acute GI bleeding.
