The most beautiful feeling in the world is to have a life growing inside you. No gift can be bigger than this. The good news of pregnancy brings immense joy both to the parents and the whole family. The happiness of carrying a child inside you, comes coupled with enormous responsibilities. Each and every activity of the pregnant mother has an effect on the child inside the womb. Habits ranging from eating to sleeping have its own impact on the health of the baby.

Carrying a life inside you can never be easy. Right from the onset of pregnancy to delivering the baby, the mother experiences numerous health conditions. The woman’s body goes through several transformations during the nine months of pregnancy. Physical changes like expanding stomach, weight gain, and breasts enlargement are few of the visible changes. Being aware of all such symptoms, aids in addressing the complications quickly and helps in seeking immediate medical attention.

Here are the few of such symptoms which need immediate medical attention-

Bleeding – Bleeding during your pregnancy can indicate different problems based on the conditions. Heavy bleeding accompanied with severe abdominal pain could be a sign of an ectopic pregnancy where the fertilized egg implants somewhere other than the uterus. While heavy  bleeding with cramping could indicate miscarriage, bleeding with abdominal pain in the third trimester may be a sign of placental abruption. Bleeding of any intensity during pregnancy is serious and requires immediate medical attention.

Severe Nausea & Vomiting – Nausea and vomiting is common during pregnancy cycle, however severe conditions of nausea and vomiting can pose serious threats of dehydration. It requires immediate medical attention and the doctor may prescribe medication and change of diet to prevent it.

Gestational Diabetes – It is a condition where the hormonal changes of pregnancy makes it difficult for the mother’s body to effectively use insulin. When insulin is unable to lower blood sugar to normal levels, it results in abnormally high blood sugar levels. This condition can prove to be very dangerous for both mother and child. On experiencing symptoms of macrosomia, the mother must immediately seek doctor’s help.

Premature Rupture of Membranes – It is normal for the membranes or amniotic sac that surrounds the baby to break during labor. However, premature rupture of the membranes due to infections can cause serious complications. Symptoms like early labor pain indicates this complication. It is a serious condition which requires urgent medical attention.

Regular exercise helps to control weight, improve circulation, and helps you sleep better. Studies have showed that yoga, pilates and walking ensures good health of both the mother and the baby. Following healthy lifestyle and proper eating habits like eating nutrients rich diet, daily dosage of prenatal vitamin, avoiding smoke or drinks, and having  adequate sleep  will help you have a healthy pregnancy and a healthy baby.
